Community participation with the right level of support
Community access support helps participants attend activities, appointments, shopping, recreation, family events and local community opportunities. Support should be purposeful, safe and connected to participant goals.
Who this service may suit
This service may suit participants who want to build confidence outside home, access appointments or stay connected with their community.
- Participants who need support to attend community activities.
- People working on confidence, social connection or travel routines.
- Participants needing practical help with appointments or errands.
- Families and support coordinators seeking reliable community access support.
What support can include
Support is agreed with each participant. Depending on goals, assessed needs, location and capacity, it may include:
- Planning and attending community activities.
- Appointment support and travel routines where agreed.
- Shopping, recreation and social participation.
- Skill building for confidence, communication and independence.
What this page does not promise
- It does not include unsafe or unsuitable activities.
- It does not cover participant spending money, activity fees or transport costs unless agreed.
- It is not an emergency transport service.
- It does not guarantee a specific staff member or activity outcome.
Where and when it is available
Community access is available subject to worker availability, location, schedule, transport arrangements and participant support needs.
Confirm current capacity
Availability can change. Tell us the suburb or postcode, preferred start date and support required so the intake team can give an accurate answer.
Funding and service agreements
Funding context should be checked against the participant plan and service booking. We do not describe community access as automatically funded.
EPNT does not guarantee plan funding, plan approval or participant outcomes. Before support starts, the service, price, responsibilities and cancellation terms should be documented in a service agreement.
Our approach
We focus on choice, dignity, cultural respect and practical goals so community access is more than transport from one place to another.
- Start with the participant’s goals, preferences and communication needs.
- Explain scope, availability, costs and next steps in plain English.
- Protect privacy and collect only the information needed at each stage.
- Review support arrangements as circumstances and goals change.
