Support with practical household tasks
Day-to-day task support can include domestic assistance, laundry, meal-related tasks, light cleaning and other agreed household activities linked to participant needs and goals.
Who this service may suit
This service may suit participants who need help keeping on top of household tasks because of disability-related support needs.
- Participants needing help with routine household tasks.
- People building skills in cleaning, laundry or organisation.
- Participants needing prompts and practical assistance.
- Families and support coordinators seeking clear task-based support.
What support can include
Support is agreed with each participant. Depending on goals, assessed needs, location and capacity, it may include:
- Light cleaning and household organisation.
- Laundry and linen routines.
- Meal preparation-related tasks.
- Skill development and prompts to participate where appropriate.
What this page does not promise
- It does not include specialist cleaning, hazardous cleaning or major maintenance.
- It does not include tasks unrelated to the participant's support needs.
- It does not replace tenancy, property management or trade services.
- It does not guarantee funding approval.
Where and when it is available
Task support availability depends on location, frequency, scope and staffing.
Confirm current capacity
Availability can change. Tell us the suburb or postcode, preferred start date and support required so the intake team can give an accurate answer.
Funding and service agreements
The support must be linked to the participant plan and documented scope. Pricing and responsibilities should be clear before service starts.
EPNT does not guarantee plan funding, plan approval or participant outcomes. Before support starts, the service, price, responsibilities and cancellation terms should be documented in a service agreement.
Our approach
We define tasks clearly so everyone understands what will be done, how often, by whom and what is outside scope.
- Start with the participant’s goals, preferences and communication needs.
- Explain scope, availability, costs and next steps in plain English.
- Protect privacy and collect only the information needed at each stage.
- Review support arrangements as circumstances and goals change.
Common questions
Can workers clean the whole house?
Scope depends on the participant's disability-related needs and the agreed service. Specialist or hazardous cleaning is outside ordinary support scope.
Can support include skill building?
Yes. Where appropriate, tasks can be done with the participant rather than only for the participant.
