Personal routines delivered with dignity and respect
Self-care support can help with daily personal routines in ways that protect dignity, privacy and participant choice. The support model should be agreed before service starts.
Who this service may suit
This service may suit participants who need regular help with daily personal tasks or prompts to complete routines safely.
- Participants needing help with morning, evening or personal routines.
- People building independence with hygiene, grooming or dressing.
- Participants needing prompts, reminders or practical assistance.
- Families seeking consistent support delivered respectfully.
What support can include
Support is agreed with each participant. Depending on goals, assessed needs, location and capacity, it may include:
- Hygiene, dressing and grooming support as agreed.
- Meal and hydration prompts where appropriate.
- Medication prompts within support-worker scope and policy.
- Support to build independence and confidence with routines.
What this page does not promise
- It does not replace nursing or clinical care outside the agreed support scope.
- It does not include restrictive practices unless properly authorised and documented.
- It does not guarantee funding or a particular outcome.
- It does not include tasks that would be unsafe without specialist training.
Where and when it is available
Self-care support depends on location, preferred times, required support level and worker availability.
Confirm current capacity
Availability can change. Tell us the suburb or postcode, preferred start date and support required so the intake team can give an accurate answer.
Funding and service agreements
Funding must be considered against participant goals and plan categories. Public information must not imply the NDIS will always pay for a service.
EPNT does not guarantee plan funding, plan approval or participant outcomes. Before support starts, the service, price, responsibilities and cancellation terms should be documented in a service agreement.
Our approach
EPNT takes a person-centred approach that respects routines, privacy, communication style, culture and the participant's right to make choices.
- Start with the participant’s goals, preferences and communication needs.
- Explain scope, availability, costs and next steps in plain English.
- Protect privacy and collect only the information needed at each stage.
- Review support arrangements as circumstances and goals change.
Common questions
Can support be provided early morning or evening?
This may be possible depending on location, roster capacity and support needs.
Will the same worker attend every time?
Continuity is important, but exact rosters depend on availability, leave, suitability and participant needs.
